Bridging the Gap

Omega Tau Pi's on-going effort to create a more unified Sisterhood

~Preparing a More Phenomenal Sisterhood for a More Phenomenal Future~

Greatings Sisters!!

On behalf of the National Board of Omega Tau Pi, I would like to commend all Sisters on a PHENOMENAL YEAR of SISTERHOOD and SERVICE. This year was truly a great year for Omega Tau Pi, we made great strides in the field of SERVICE with over 4000 hours of help to our various communities. The Organization increased its active membership with the addition of many new Sisters and by many older Sisters returning to active-status.

Special congratulations are extended to:
The Zeta Chapter - The White Rose Award for Chapter of the Year
The Epsilon Chapter - The Black Panther Award for a Phenomenal Year of Service
Ebony Baylor - The Phenomenal Woman Award for Sister of the Year
Justin Scott - The White Tiger Award for Brother of the Year from Omega Tau Pi

It is our hopes that we will continue these efforts and more into the 2009-2010 school year. With that being said, we ask that a listing of newly-elected officers be submitted to Secretary Tracy Holmes at ecirtap00@gmail.com by June 20. Also be sure to send a final tally of all service hours completed to Ebony Baylor - Director of Service at Ebony.Baylor@gmail.com.

Your Vice President Sharma Kennerson requests that we do not stop our efforts towards Sisterhood and Service during the summer months, please take the time to give back to your home communities and reach out to all Sisters and Brothers in your area. Undergraduate Member-at-Large, Sister Thena Nickels has asked that we start working on the new Adopt-a-High School program she has implemented, also think of some great ideas for your Arts-Based Project for the year.

We look forward to going higher and higher in the name of Omega Tau Pi, the best is truly yet to come.

In Sisterhood and in Service,
Christie Hunter, Your National President

Spotlight on the Brothers of

Upsilon Phi Upsilon

Jerard Ford

Brother Jerard Ford is a Fall 2002 Initiate of Upsilon Phi Upsilon who says his journey to becoming a photographer started way before he can remember. His entire life has been built and based around Visual and Performing Arts.
He says, "Being original as well as having a eye for detail has helped me become the person I am today." People are often surprised when he says that he's only taken two artistic classes in his entire life. I just tell them, "why take classes in things that come naturally to me?" I feel that no man can ever teach you what God has planned for you. He will make it not only a part of your life, but also your way of life.
